Elevated Glamping with Vineyard Vibes

About Texas Glampgrounds

Where Hill Country Roots Meet Luxury Camping

Texas Glampgrounds was born from one camping trip with two very different chapters.

Hunter grew up in Fredericksburg, right in the heart of the Texas Hill Country wine trail, where his parents ran a local motel and built an RV park from the ground up. Long before "glamping" was a word, Hunter was learning the hospitality business from the ground floor — watching his parents build something from raw land and turn it into a place people wanted to come back to. Entrepreneurship and hospitality weren't just careers in his family; they were the family business.

Lene grew up in an entrepreneurial family of her own in Dallas, where her parents rebuilt their lives and built a business owning an apartment complex. Lene grew up in the thick of it — helping her dad with paperwork, and learning early on how to manage tenants and make sure people felt taken care of. That instinct for hospitality, for making sure people are genuinely happy where they're staying, is something she brings to Texas Glampgrounds every day.

When Hunter and Lene started dating, one of their first trips together was a primitive camping trip (no running water, electricity, or restrooms) in California. It didn't go quite as planned — by the second night, Lene knew that sleeping on the ground wasn't for her, and by the next afternoon they'd checked into a W Hotel instead.

That contrast — the beauty of being outdoors versus the comfort of a great hotel room — stuck with both of them. Why did it have to be one or the other? That question eventually became Texas Glampgrounds: a place where you can fall asleep to a Hill Country breeze and wake up to vineyard views, without giving up a real bed, a hot shower, or air conditioning.

Our Property

Set on 17 acres of undisturbed Hill Country land in Johnson City, Texas Glampgrounds sits right in the middle of the Texas Wine Trail — minutes from local wineries and no more than 20 minutes from Fredericksburg or Johnson City. We designed four distinct tiny homes — Blue Moon, Wildflower, Cactus, and Starlight — each with its own personality, but all built around the same idea: luxury accommodations with camping vibes.

Very Hands-On Hosts

Hunter and Lene aren't remote owners running this from a spreadsheet somewhere. They're local, hands-on, and involved in the day-to-day of the property — which means when you have a question or need something during your stay, you're not talking to a call center. This is a family business, built by two people who grew up around entrepreneurship and hospitality and who put that same care into every detail here.

Come Experience It Yourself

Whether you're planning a wine country weekend, a romantic escape, or a Hill Country adventure with friends, Hunter and Lene built Texas Glampgrounds for exactly the kind of trip they always wanted to take themselves — beautiful, comfortable, and a little bit wild.
